Description
Ponce inlet Park is a haven for surfers when conditions are right as they were when I took this photo during surfing competition. When the easterly winds blow, the waves kick up and the surfers don their wet suits. This area is also known as the shark bite capitol of the USA, with as many as a couple of dozen every year. Luckily the sharks here are of a small size so bite are rarely fatal. Further off the coast though, great whites have been monitored.

Thank you Pennie....I know what you mean....I have swum here and you can feel the fish schools swimming around sometimes, which is what attracts the sharks but there bites rarely fatal....though I have read recently that the great whites having been looming around here lately...YIKES
