The National September 11 Memorial & Museum are the principal memorial and museum, respectively. They commemorate the September 11, 2001 attacks, which killed 2,977 victims, and the World Trade Center bombing of 1993, which killed six. On September 12, 2011, one day after the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, the north and south memorial pools opened to the public with a lengthy set of rules and regulations approved by the foundation's board of directors. This image was taken at the south pool where arrays of flowers are periodically displayed at individual names of those who lost their lives that infamous day.
I have been exposed to the art world since a child roaming the halls of Art Galleries throughout Europe with my artist/architect father. During my military days in Vietnam I became exposed to photography by doing black and white aerial photography and processing it in my own dark room and taking color slides as well. Not until the age of digital cameras did I reintroduce myself to photography and raising two wonderfully talented sons who were actors and musicians and was able to help them along the way taking photographs for their respective portfolios (several are in my portfolio here).
