Description
A popular attraction in New York Harbor is sailing aboard this wonderful gaffed rigged Schooner. I encourage you to give it a try if visiting NYC. Who knows, you may become a salty dog!!!!
In the rigging you will see hanging in a line what are called Baggy Wrinkles. Baggywrinkle is a soft covering for cables (or any other obstructions) to reduce sail chafe. There are many points in the rig of a large sailing ship where the sails come into contact with the standing rigging; unprotected sails would soon develop holes at the points of contact.
